Guest Nutrition Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is registered in the Republic of Ireland (Company No. 731737) and operates in the United States as Global Nutrition Value (GNV) (Copyright Registration TX 9-259-585). This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in connection with:

Our websites and QR pages, including globalnutritionvalue.com and related microsites;
The Global Nutrition Value (GNV) Code System;
The Performance Platform (our analytics, labelling, and compliance tools); and
Related services such as FIT – Food Intelligence & Transparency and RNP – Recipe Nutrition Profile.

If we provide our services to an enterprise customer (e.g., a hospital, university, or caterer), we generally act as that customer’s data processor. For our websites, marketing, and accounts, we are the data controller.

What we collect

Account & contact data: name, business email, phone, role, organisation.
Operational data: recipes, ingredients, labels, supplier info, audit logs.
Guest/consumer data (where enabled by the enterprise customer): dietary observances, allergens, and similar information needed to generate nutrition profiles or QR pages. These may constitute special category data under the GDPR and are processed only with a valid legal basis (see below).
Device & usage data: IP address, browser, app telemetry, cookies.
Support & communications: messages, call notes, feedback.

How we use personal information

To provide and improve the GNV Code System and Performance Platform.
To generate nutrition, allergen, and transparency outputs (e.g., QR pages) as configured by the enterprise customer.
For security nd traceability (cryptographic audit logs, access controls, incident response).
To provide support, billing and account administration.
With consent, to send product updates and service communications.
For analytics that help us measure performance and reliability.

Legal bases (EU/EEA/UK)

We process personal data under GDPR on the following bases:

Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) – to deliver our services to you or your organisation.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) – platform security, service improvement, fraud prevention.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) – required for marketing and, where applicable, for special category data such as dietary/allergen information (Art. 9(2)(a)) unless another Art. 9 condition applies (e.g., substantial public interest via healthcare providers).
Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) – record-keeping or regulatory requests.

For the US, we align with applicable state and Federal Privacy laws and process data consistent with the purposes described above.

Sharing & disclosures

We share data only with:

Service providers/processors (hosting, cloud, analytics, customer support) under contract;
Enterprise customers (when we act as their processor);
Regulators or law enforcement were required by law;
Parties to a business transaction (e.g., merger) are subject to safeguards.

We do not sell personal data.

International transfers

When data is transferred outside the EEA/UK (e.g., to the US), we utilise appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and additional security controls.

Security

Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, to comply with legal obligations, or as agreed in our customer contracts. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, or port your data, as well as withdraw your consent at any time. If we process data on behalf of an enterprise customer, please get in touch with them first; we will support their response to your request.

Children

Our services are intended for professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Where institutions use GNV for patient/student services, they are responsible for obtaining any required consents and notices.
